Jeffrey Stonger, CAIA
FOUNDER & CEO
Mr. Stonger is the Founder and CEO of Factor Strategic Partners (“FACTOR”) and is responsible for all investment and management activities of the firm, including strategic vision, growth initiatives, GP partnerships, capital raising, and deal structuring.
Prior to founding FACTOR, Mr. Stonger was a Partner and Chief Investment Officer for BMC Investments, a Denver-based vertically-integrated real estate investment manager, where he was responsible for leading the firm’s investment process and overseeing all new investments, capital raising, and strategic growth initiatives in order to grow and scale the company into new markets and strategies. While at BMC, Mr. Stonger executed over $2 billion of transactions across acquisitions, developments, recapitalizations, refinancings, and sales. Additionally, he was instrumental in helping the firm evolve into an institutional investment manager; he successfully restructured the firm, implemented institutional-quality systems, processes, and infrastructure, expanded the capital base to include five new institutional joint venture partners across over a dozen new ventures, structured and helped raise the firm’s first-ever discretionary commingled fund of $150 million anchored by a leading global alternative asset manager and expanded the firm’s investment footprint outside of Colorado.
Before joining BMC, Mr. Stonger was a Managing Director at Ascentris, where he was primarily responsible for acquiring, structuring, and managing investments throughout the Western US. Before his role at Ascentris, Mr. Stonger was a Managing Director at Amstar, where he spent 10 years serving in multiple roles across both the U.S. and European investment platforms and was responsible for sourcing and acquisitions, asset management, and capital raising. Notably, Mr. Stonger helped the firm establish Amstar Advisers (which later became Ascentris) as an SEC-Registered Investment Adviser, overseeing the implementation of all necessary policies, procedures, and infrastructure to attract institutional capital; the firm has since raised over $1.5 billion of equity from U.S. institutional investors in both separately managed accounts and commingled funds. During his tenure, he also served as Head of Europe (based in London and Poland) where he was the Portfolio Manager for two commingled funds and responsible for managing and expanding the company’s investment platform in Central and Eastern Europe.
Mr. Stonger graduated cum laude from the University of Southern California with a B.S. in Business and Real Estate Finance. He also graduated from Harvard Business School (PLDA) with a concentration in General Management and Leadership and is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) charterholder.
Mr. Stonger is currently a mentor for SEAL Future Foundation (“SFF”), which provides Navy SEALs a foundation that supports their well-being, education, and career to continue a life of service within their communities. Mr. Stonger previously served four years on the Portfolio Management Committee with the National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries and served as a Board Trustee for MindsMatter Denver.
